Metal Finishing

 

After casting the process is only about half done. We offer comprehensive finishing services to bring any casting to completion.

 

Finishing can include:

- removing mold material from poured castings

- removing sprues and vents

- grinding and chasing the surface with hand and power tools to match the original object's form and texture

- welding where applicable

- drilling and tapping for final display mounting

- metal cleaning including sandblasting, wire brushing, solvent washing

- polishing

- patination with traditional patina chemicals and commercial pre-mixes

- clear and pigmented lacquer sealants

- traditional paste wax sealant
